What is Déjà Vu?

Déjà vu is a French term which literally translates to ‘already seen’. It describes a feeling of already having experienced a situation. When you have déjà vu, you are met with an unexplainable and overwhelming feeling of familiarity for something that shouldn’t be familiar at all. Places, things, or people who you have never visited, seen, or met before, start to seem familiar.

To illustrate this further, let me give you an example. Say you are on your very first trip to Rome, and while walking down the cobblestone paths of one of the alleys, you get an uncanny feeling that you’ve been there before. Or say you are having an conversation with someone, and suddenly, you have a memory of already having had this conversation with that person before. If you have witnessed anything like this, you were experiencing déjà vu.

A feeling of déjà vu is fleeting, only lasting about 10 to 30 seconds, but is unmistakable, and hard to ignore. Déjà vu can be triggered by a smell, colors, the taste of food, background noises, or anything else that may trigger memories linked to your subconscious.

Feelings Of Déjà Vu

These are some common feelings associated with déjà vu:

1. Have you visited a foreign place you’ve never been to before, but something about it feels familiar, like you’ve lived there before?
2. Have you ever felt like you knew your way around a place you’ve never been to before?
3. Have you been in the middle of a conversation with someone, and suddnely captured a glimpse of having that exact conversation, word for word, earlier?
4. Have you met someone for the first time, but you felt like you have known them in the past?
A “yes” answer to any the questions above indicates that you have at some point, experienced a feeling of déjà vu.
What Do Feelings of Déjà Vu Mean?

Your mind is an amazing thing, and is capable of so much more than we realize. Your mind, your thought processes, and your subconscious, holds the keys to several pieces of information about the eternity of your soul. There are several reasons why you experience déjà vu.

1. Past Life Memories

Déjà vu is one of the biggest indicators that you have lived before. Feelings of déjà vu can be memories of your past lives that are emerging from your subconscious mind. Your spirit memory is buried deep in your subconscious, and the fleeting moment when it emerges is called déjà vu.

You have déjà vu when you experience something in the present that you have also witnessed in a past life. Your past life memories manifest in your dreams as well. This is why sometimes when you have déjà vu, you feel like you’ve dreamed of that particular person, place, thing, or situation before.

2. Blueprint Indicators

Before you are born on the earth, your ethereal spirit charts out a path, or a blueprint, for your mortal self to follow. This includes the life choices you will make, who you will marry, what profession you will choose, how successful you will be, etc. Your blueprints are not set in stone, and your path can be changed via free will, when you choose.

In your blueprint, your spirit has charted out several signposts along the way, to let you know that you are on the correct path. These signposts appear to your mortal self as feelings of déjà vu. It is a subtle, underlying message, from your subconscious mind to your conscious mind, to remember the blueprint.

3. Signs from the Universe

The Universe communicates with you in many marvellous ways. Your feelings of déjà vu can be attributed to the Universe attempting to touch base with you by sending you a sign. It could be a warning, a hint, or a clue, to indicate the next step to take in your life.

Your Mind And Déjà Vu

Your mind is a powerful engine that creates all kinds of experiences, déjà vu being one of them. Your subconscious and spiritual mind communicates with you in many ways. You just need to be receptive to these messages.

The meaning of déjà vu has many references and explanations. Understanding the meaning of déjà vu will make you more aware of all the spiritual messages and beacons being sent your way from the Universe.

I keep recognizing places from my dreams but the story is not part of the present. I’ve just been taking it to mean I’m at the right place in my new relationship and these are recognizable landmarks to say I’m on the right intended path. Thanks for confirming my feeling.
